How to Write Your Own AI File Naming Convention
Pick the fields you search for, put the most important first, write short AI instructions and test on ten files. Three ready-to-copy examples.
Do I need Pro to create my own naming convention?
Yes. Custom presets are part of Pro. The five built-in conventions are available on the free plan and in /try without signup.
Can I use underscores in my convention?
New names use hyphens between fields and ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD). Underscores in a pattern are turned into hyphens.
Does a new convention rename my existing files?
No. It only applies when you rename files, for example on upload or with Rename again with preset.
