How to Rename Midjourney Images in Bulk (Free)
Midjourney filenames are unique but unsearchable. Rename them in bulk with the AI preset and keep every version together.
Why do Midjourney downloads have such long filenames?
Midjourney names files with your username, a slice of the prompt and a job UUID. That's unique, but you can't search for what's in the image.
How do I keep upscales and variations together?
Use the same content and style words for every version and only change the version field: -v1, -v2, -upscale. Sorted by name, they line up next to each other.
Is bulk renaming Midjourney images free?
Yes. The free plan includes 50 image renames a month, and you can try 5 of your own files on /try without signing up.
Which preset should I use?
The AI preset (YYYY-MM-DD-content-style-source-version) is built for generated images. It records date, subject, style, tool and version.
